The project involved the construction of Mooney's new headquarters on Via Rizzoli in Milan, covering a total area of approximately 1,600 square meters. STUDIO BIA-@RCH oversaw the project through all phases, from the feasibility study and preliminary and executive design to interior design, branding, and construction management, developing a functional work environment consistent with the company's organizational needs.
The layout was organized into departments based on the number of people, the activities performed, and the need for collaboration between teams. The spaces include work areas, call centers, laboratories, support areas, and common areas. Particular attention was paid to call center activities, for which more isolated environments and workstations equipped with sound-absorbing panels were designed to ensure privacy and acoustic comfort. To support these activities, there are also four meeting rooms, two laboratories, a training room, and a central multipurpose space.
Flexibility is a key element of the project. The furnishings were chosen and designed to be removable and reconfigurable, allowing the spaces to be adapted to any changes in team organization. The workstations are also equipped with lockers for managing personal belongings, while the meeting spaces and rooms are organized to support different work and collaboration methods.
At the heart of the headquarters, the multipurpose area combines a food court with a space dedicated to recreation and relaxation. The fully equipped kitchen and break areas foster social interaction among employees, while features such as foosball, ping pong, and a reading area contribute to an informal atmosphere , designed to foster relationships and reduce daily stress. Colors, shapes, and fabrics differentiate these areas from the workspaces, creating a more relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Mooney's identity has been seamlessly integrated into the architecture and interiors through a coordinated system of colors, graphics, furnishings, and lighting. The branding guides users and visitors through the spaces, helping to define pathways, identify different areas, and make the space immediately identifiable with the company's identity.
Finally, particular attention was paid to environmental quality and acoustic comfort , with the use of flooring and other specific noise control solutions. Sound-absorbent fabric curtains and double-glazed glass walls contribute to improving the acoustic performance of the spaces, a particularly important aspect in a building characterized by the presence of numerous telephone services.
The result is a flexible and reconfigurable work environment, where organization, comfort, corporate identity, and sociality coexist in a project designed to support various daily activities and promote people's well-being.
