Reorganization project for the B. Braun office building

Intervention area 1,500 m2   - 150 stations - Milan   2023

B. Braun Milano SpA commissioned us to reorganize the spaces of its Milan headquarters, covering a total area of approximately 1,500 square meters and accommodating 150 workstations. The project aimed to make the spaces more flexible and responsive to new ways of working, introducing new functions and solutions capable of improving the daily user experience and space management.

The floor plan reflects " Activity-Based Working ," a working method that prioritizes employees and their needs. This approach aims to reinvent workspaces to make the experience more engaging and improve individual and corporate productivity, as well as foster engagement and well-being. The new organization allows for a shift away from rigid workstation configurations, offering users the ability to utilize the spaces according to their different activities and needs throughout the day.

New features have been added to the office to support a more dynamic and flexible work model: seven phone booths, designed to ensure greater privacy during calls and individual activities, 200 individual lockers for managing personal belongings, and a collaborative room dedicated to teamwork and employee discussion. The new features integrate with existing workstations, helping to make the environment more flexible and suitable for different usage modes.

The areas are designed to improve resource and access management, allowing for space reservations via a QR code system. In keeping with the principle of flexibility, reservations apply to both open-plan workstations and meeting rooms.

The dynamic management of workstations and collaborative spaces thus helps optimize available resources and promote more informed use of spaces. The booking system, combined with the new space configuration, supports a work model geared toward flexibility and the ability to choose the most suitable environment for the task at hand.

The assignment included a feasibility study, preliminary design, executive design, building permits, construction management, and branding, guiding the project through the various phases of the design and construction process.

The result is a reorganized headquarters where flexibility, technology, and new ways of using space contribute to a more functional environment that is attentive to people's needs, while supporting productivity, collaboration, and daily well-being.
