Renovation project for the Sisal headquarters in Rome
Intervention area approx. 3,500 m2   - 380 stations - Rome   2023

The project involved the redevelopment of Sisal's Rome headquarters, a building of approximately 3,500 square meters spread over three levels. The project, developed by STUDIO BIA-@RCH, was conceived with the aim of translating the company's values of innovation, well-being, and sustainability into physical space, through a contemporary, functional, and flexible work environment.

The project, developed in collaboration with Sisal, was developed according to the principles of flexible office and activity-based working , organizing spaces based on the different activities and needs of users. The nearly 400 open-plan workstations integrate with individual offices, meeting rooms, concentration spaces, collaborative areas, project rooms, huddle rooms, and break and social areas. The variety of spaces allows for alternating moments of collaboration, concentration, and informality, while also promoting flexibility and autonomy in the use of spaces.

Particular attention was paid to personal well-being and environmental quality. The inclusion of plants and nature-inspired materials, along with warm, vibrant finishes, contributes to a welcoming and stimulating environment. Comfort was also addressed through ergonomic furnishings, sound-absorbing solutions, and a careful distribution of workstations with respect to natural light. The areas were also designed to ensure adequate levels of privacy without interrupting visual continuity and the connections between spaces.

Sustainability is another key aspect of the project. The heating and cooling systems were upgraded with highly efficient systems powered exclusively by electricity, with the goal of eliminating the use of natural gas. The project also included the recovery and reuse of some of the furnishings from the previous Sisal headquarters in Milan, integrating them into the new space in keeping with the project's image and functional requirements.

The spaces' identity is defined through careful research into color and texture, with colors inspired by Sisal's brand identity and materials chosen to combine aesthetic quality, comfort, and technical performance. Green, the predominant color throughout, is paired with red-orange hues and wood-effect finishes, creating a distinctive, warm, and dynamic atmosphere. Glass walls and lightweight structures integrated with vegetation maintain visual continuity between spaces, while also ensuring privacy and differentiation between the different areas.

The result is a cohesive and contemporary work environment, where flexibility, well-being, sustainability, and corporate identity coexist in an integrated system capable of supporting different working methods and promoting the highest quality of the daily work experience.
