Space reorganization and image refresh project for the Sisal headquarters in Milan
Intervention area 9,000 m2   - 510 stations - Milan   2020

The project involved the reorganization of the nine floors of the Sisal building in Milan, with the aim of introducing new functional workspaces and new spaces for collaboration and sharing. The project involved the entire building, reorganizing the layout of the spaces to meet the company's new organizational needs and support more flexible and contemporary working methods.

All areas of the building have been redesigned to improve resource and access management, implementing an average 30% smart working rate and enabling remote space booking. In keeping with the principle of flexibility, booking applies to both open-plan workstations and meeting rooms, allowing users to organize their use of the spaces in advance based on their needs and planned activities.

The design features sequences of spaces with different characteristics, depending on the activities performed within the building's various areas. These include dynamic and modern spaces where offices, open spaces, and meeting rooms flow seamlessly and are distributed across each floor. The variety of configurations allows for alternating spaces dedicated to individual work with areas for meetings, collaboration, and sharing, creating a structured yet coherent system across the different levels.

The project is part of a broader cultural shift within the company, which has adopted smart working while simultaneously enhancing the use of technology and innovation in space management. The ability to remotely book workstations and meeting rooms thus supports a new way of experiencing the office, where employees can choose and use spaces more independently.

Alongside the functional reorganization, a refresh of the spaces' image was implemented through interior design and branding interventions, specifically designed for the client. The interior renovation allowed for a fresher perception of the spaces and a stronger corporate identity, integrating Sisal's image into the new spatial configuration and accompanying the organizational change with a renewed visual and design quality.

The space boasts a total of approximately 510 open-plan workstations, one executive area, 14 single offices, 27 double offices, 20 meeting rooms, nine breakout areas, and a reception area. The layout of the various functions allows it to meet the needs of a diverse organization, offering different spaces for individual activities, meetings, collaboration, and breaks.

The result is a headquarters reorganized according to a flexible and contemporary logic, in which spatial distribution, technology, smart working, and corporate identity contribute to the construction of a new way of experiencing the workplace.
