Office renovation and fit-out project
Intervention area 1,600 m2   - 250 stations - Milan   2022

Mooney commissioned us to renovate and equip six floors of offices totaling approximately 1,600 square meters at their Milan headquarters. The project was designed to create flexible, colorful, and functional workspaces, while carefully managing the project budget . The design therefore sought a balance between quality of space, functionality, and economic sustainability, through solutions that enhanced the spaces without sacrificing the company's identity.

The project encompasses various functional typologies and new spaces dedicated to collaboration and sharing, organized according to the Activity-Based Working approach. This approach emphasizes modularity and reconfigurability, allowing spaces to be adapted to different activities and work methods. The layout was developed through similar sequences of rooms that are repeated across the different floors, creating a recognizable and coherent system and allowing a flexible organizational model to be replicated throughout the building.

The variety of spaces allows for a mix of open-plan workstations, more private spaces, and spaces dedicated to meeting and collaboration. Shared areas and collaborative rooms support discussion and group work, while meeting rooms and individual offices meet the need for greater privacy and concentration. Breakout areas complete the layout, providing informal spaces for breaks and socializing.

The project has undergone various developments over time, expanding alongside the company, which has evolved from SisalPay and Banca5 to Mooney. The company's progressive evolution has required a spatial system capable of adapting to new organizational needs, while maintaining design continuity across the various projects completed over the years. Currently, the building's various floors comprise approximately 250 open-plan workstations, eight individual offices, eight meeting rooms, five collaborative rooms, and six breakout areas.

The design therefore interpreted the headquarters as a constantly evolving system, in which modularity and reconfigurability allow the spaces to adapt to the company's growth. The repetition of spatial typologies and sequences across the different levels ensures organizational consistency, while also allowing for the possibility of modifying and adapting the spaces to meet future needs.

The assignment includes the feasibility study, preliminary design, executive design, architectural and plant engineering management, construction procedures, and branding, overseeing the project through its various phases, from defining spatial solutions to implementing the interventions.

The result is a flexible and reconfigurable office system, capable of evolving with the company and responding to different working methods through a design that is attentive to functionality, collaboration, and the quality of the spaces, maintaining a consistent identity across the entire project area.
