"Grains of sand" is a modular furniture system that interprets the armchair as an element open to transformation. The project stems from a reflection on the relationship between humanity and the environment. In this regard, the name, derived from the object's modularity, evokes the crumbling of today's society and the impact of human actions on the sea and the environment, through the metaphor of grains of sand. The five wooden rods resemble starfish, evoking a natural element abandoned on the sand.

The armchair's configuration is the starting point of a system designed to be dismantled and reassembled. The object can be divided into a mini-armchair, complete with coat rack, and three ottomans, while the remaining structure, when folded, transforms into a height-adjustable coffee table.

The ability to combine these elements allows for a variety of configurations: from individual use to combining multiple seats, or even including a coffee table. The object's modularity thus becomes the guiding principle behind a design approach focused on flexibility, composition, and the interrelationship of its elements.

The system is available in two versions, for adults and for children, maintaining the compositional principle and transformation possibilities unchanged, with dimensions and proportions adapted to the different ranges of use.
